The dance of the Schaeffler – a traditional dance which was practiced 500 years after the time of the plague – and jokes of the punches make the little ones of the kindergarten GeNUKids happy.

Dr. Angelika Niebler, Member of the European Parlament, and Ernst Weidenbusch (on the right), Member of the Bavarian Landtag, visited GeNUA to get to know the modern IT security company in the outskirts of Munich. Managing Director Dr. Magnus Harlander received the politicians and informed them about the structure and the business area of the company. During a tour through the building, the participants discussed current questions regarding IT security.
At the PMRExpo in Cologne, GeNUA showed how agencies can link control centers safely using wireless networks. Therefore the Firewall and VPN Appliance GeNUScreen allows the exchange of data in a secure and reliable way. It is approved for the use in national agencies and organisations with security tasks sharing information up to the classification level NATO Restricted.
At the trade show SPS/IPC/Drives in Nuremberg, GeNUA presented secure remote maintenance solutions for industrial machineries. In this setup, the Security Platform GeNUBox provides encrypted connections for a secure remote access and additionally offers a firewall to separate the maintained machine from other network areas. In this way, the external service provider can only access the maintenance object – without any risks.
GeNUA launched another new office centrally located on Heilbronner Strasse in
Stuttgart. Now it is possible to offer quick on-site services in this region.
The office is expandable with additional rooms to increase the company's
activities around the area of Stuttgart in the future.
GeNUA presented an interesting product line-up at the trade show it-sa in Nuremberg: the firewalls GeNUScreen, GeNUGate and – brand new – the Mobile Security Device GeNUCard 2. Equipped with firewall and VPN Gateway, it offers mobile users a high-secure access to corporate or government networks. Therefor the GeNUCard must simply be connected with the laptop via USB.

This process brings serious consequences on IT security, as Managing Director Dr. Magnus Harlander explained to the guests of the GeNUA customer event in the museum of Deutsche Bahn. Administration at STRATO AG, talked about the IPv6 introduction inside of a major webhosting company. Finally, consultant Tobias Schrödel, mixed IT security and comedy to an impressive live show.
In the depot of the DB Museum, the event found its great end with a nice dinner next to historic trains.

The visitors had many interesting discussions – during the event in the company and later at the Oktoberfest in Munich.
Eight new trainees are starting their working life at GeNUA. They choose different professions, starting with qualified IT specialists and mathematical-technical software developers over business or IT officers up to marketing communication specialists. All in all, GeNUA employs 19 trainees now. With its 160 employees, the company has an apprenticeship rate of 12 percent.
