The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), together with the eco association and Bitkom, has declared 2025 the "Year of E-Mail Security." The goal of the initiative is to make e-mail traffic more secure across Germany.
All companies and organizations were called upon to register for participation by August 15, 2025. As a leading German provider of IT security solutions, genua supports this initiative. With genumail, the company also offers a solution for protecting its customers' e-mail communications.
The Secure E-Mail Gateway genumail analyzes incoming e-mails and uses advanced mechanisms to detect anomalies and patterns such as suspicious sender addresses, links, and attachments. Information on threat data is always up-to-date and reliably prevents attacks. In addition to the general risk assessment, an AI-based evaluation helps administrators to identify phishing e-mails in compliance with data protection regulations. genumail complies with the technical guidelines TR-03108 and TR-03182 for secure e-mail traffic recommended by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)
At the event for the “E-Mail Security Year 2025” on August 22, 2025 in Berlin, Michael Barth, Head of Strategy, received the certificate for genua as a company with gold status from BSI President Claudia Plattner. The initiators honored around 150 companies that are actively involved in implementing security measures to make e-mail communication in Germany more secure – both for organizations and for consumers.
