Mission-Critical Connectivity. Secure. Sovereign. Mobile.

  • Mobile VS-NfD Workstation
  • Data diode up to SECRET
  • Firewalls & VPN appliances with VS-NfD certification
  • Virtualized on-premises & cloud solutions
  • Cutting-edge IT security technologies

Kirchheim, May 6, 2026 – Three booths, one claim: Mission Critical Connectivity. Secure. Sovereign. Mobile. genua GmbH, a German expert in IT security, a company of the Bundesdruckerei Group, and a supplier to the German Armed Forces, will present groundbreaking solutions for securing mission-critical and highly sensitive digital infrastructures at the 39th AFCEA Trade Exhibition (May 12–13, 2026, Bonn).

At three booths, the BSI-certified manufacturer will demonstrate how stakeholders in the defense sector and in the classified industry can significantly enhance the security and resilience of their IT systems and thus ensure their digital sovereignty using both hardware-based and virtualized IT security solutions developed consistently according to the Security-by-Design paradigm. These are generally at least BSI-approved for VS-NfD, NATO RESTRICTED, and EU RESTRICTED.

In addition, genua provides insights into the development of cutting-edge IT security technologies, such as securing cloud environments based on approved virtualized firewalls and gateways. Another key area of research is quantum-resistant encryption, which genua is already successfully implementing in highly secure communication solutions. Using a demonstrator, the company also shows how virtually constructed P-A-P structures are technically feasible today.

Digital Sovereignty: Securely Connected for Emergencies

genua experts are available for in-depth discussions regarding the solutions in genua’s extensive portfolio. These include:

The new high-speed VPN gateway genuline connects locations in compliance with VS-NfD at speeds of up to 100 Gbit/s (full duplex). FPGA-based hardware acceleration ensures high data throughput and enables quantum-resistant, routable Layer 3 encryption at full line speed.

For the mobile handling of VS-NfD-classified information, genua offers several BSI-approved and NATO-compliant solutions in its portfolio ranging from the highly secure VPN software client genuconnect to the software bundle solution genusecure Suite, which combines genuconnect with BSI-approved hard disk encryption and smart card middleware to create a VS-NfD-compliant mobile workstation, to the complete HP Sure Station solution, which combines the genusecure Suite with a high-quality laptop and HP’s own security features.

genuas vs-diode, on the other hand, guarantees high-performance one-way data transfers into networks classified as GEHEIM from unclassified or lower-classified networks. It is approved for the classification levels GEHEIM, SECRET UE/EU SECRET, and NATO SECRET.

Reliable network segmentation

The only firewall classified by the BSI as “highly resistant”, genugate integrates an application-level gateway and packet filter. It is certified to Common Criteria (CC) EAL4+ with AVA_VAN.5. genugate Virtual is the virtualized, rapidly scalable variant for dynamic deployment scenarios the only virtualized firewall with VS-NfD approval.

The highly scalable and backdoor-free firewall & VPN appliance genuscreen creates quantum-resistant encrypted Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for VS-NfD-compliant data communication over public networks. Country-based control of network access is possible via GEO-IP filtering. For use in cloud environments, the solution is also available as genuscreen Virtual.

Both products can be combined into a highly secure firewall system with a P-A-P structure that meets all relevant security requirements and ensures reliable protection against external attacks.

Expert Presentation: How Hybrid Clouds Strengthen Resilience and Autonomy

In his presentation “Trau Schau Wem: Hybride Clouds für Resilienz und strategische Autonomie” (Hybrid Clouds for Resilience and Strategic Autonomy), genua expert Arnold Krille will demonstrate how a judicious selection of technologies and system design can minimize risks and ensure operational readiness even under difficult conditions and in exceptional situations (May 12, 5:30–6:00 p.m., Room Adis Abeba III).

Two other companies from the Bundesdruckerei Group will also be represented at the genua booth: D-Trust will demonstrate how VS-NfD-compliant file sharing works with Bdrive, while xecuro will present highly secure communication solutions for the digital exchange of sensitive information that also meet the federal government’s strict requirements for classified communications. In addition, genua’s long-standing partner ECOS will introduce its Secure Boot Stick.

As always, genua will be offering not only the best IT security solutions but also the best barista-style coffee at the booth it’s worth stopping by!
